I’m really glad you’re here. If you’ve found your way here, there’s a good chance you’re carrying something heavy, asking quiet questions, or simply looking for a space that feels safe, human and kind. This blog is here for you.
Why I Created This Space
I’m a bereavement volunteer, a certified coach, and an Action for Happiness Facilitator and hold a monthly group online. More importantly, I’m someone who deeply believes that every person matters, especially when life feels overwhelming, lonely or uncertain.
Loss changes us. Sometimes it arrives suddenly, sometimes slowly, and sometimes in ways we don’t immediately recognise. It can shake our identity, our confidence, our relationships and our sense of meaning. Too often, people are expected to “be strong”, “move on”, or cope quietly. This blog exists to gently challenge that idea. Here, you don’t need to rush your healing, explain your feelings, or have everything figured out.
What You’ll Find Here
This blog will be a place for:
-
Compassionate reflections on grief and bereavement – the parts that don’t always get talked about
-
Coaching insights to help you reconnect with yourself, your values and what matters to you now
-
Science-backed happiness tools inspired by Action for Happiness, shared in realistic, human ways
-
Permission to pause – to be exactly where you are, without judgement
Some posts may be practical, some reflective, some quietly hopeful. All of them are written with care, honesty and respect for your lived experience.
A Gentle Reminder
You are not broken. You are not behind. You are allowed to feel joy and sadness in the same breath. And you matter – even on the days it doesn’t feel like it.
Let’s Walk This Together
If this space resonates with you, I invite you to come back, read at your own pace, and take only what feels helpful. There’s no pressure here – just support, encouragement and kindness.
Thank you for being here.
With warmth,
Sharon Makin - Makin' You Matter ❤️
