One of the hardest parts of grief is realising that the world keeps going. People return to routines. Conversations shift. Life moves forward — and you can feel left behind, standing still while everything else carries on.
This can be incredibly lonely.
When Your Inner World Doesn’t Match the Outside
You may look okay. You may be functioning, working, parenting, showing up. But inside, you’re still living with the impact of your loss. When others stop asking, stop mentioning their name, or assume you’re coping, it can feel as though your grief has become invisible.
That doesn’t mean it’s gone.
There Is Nothing Wrong With You
Grief doesn’t end just because time has passed.
Love doesn’t disappear. Meaning doesn’t evaporate.
You are not stuck — you are still processing something that mattered deeply.
A Gentle Permission
You don’t have to keep up. You don’t have to pretend. You don’t have to match anyone else’s pace.
Your grief is allowed to take the time it needs.
You matter — even when the world feels out of sync.
